Israel was created, and later seized more, territory from the Palestinians. The Palestinians lost.

If you want to talk morality which is basically meaningless in this world we live in, yes. The two sides are so locked in a struggle that the only way to end it is for one side to wipe out the other so it won't matter who threw the first punch.

If you don't retaliate, what will happen next? Do you believe the Palestinians will look upon it as restraint? Maybe that and the idea that it might slow down some of the rocket attacks is about all they can hope to do short of systematically eliminating everyone there.

It also ignores the idea that the Palestinians were involved in the war. IIRC, the arabs promised them a share of the take should they help in their attack. As such, that kinda makes them involved in the war. When you lose the war, you lose territory. After that, all we have is still the 2 kids fighting in the backseat. You hit me, I hit you and so on and so forth. They did this, the Israelis did that and so on so they built a wall, etc, etc, etc. Like I said, the only way to end it is for one side to eliminate the other.

Yes, 2 kids fighting in a sandbox, is a way to describe the situation. The insufficency of either side to move forward and take it to a level where adjustments and progress can be made toward a solution, dignified in the face of humans.

With humans, I mean not only those affected directly, but also those who are literally forced to pay attention, whether they want to or not.

Because those 2 kids managed to play themselves into the foreground of the world's most emotional controversy, since over half a century, disregarding the possiblity, that the rest of the globe's inhabitants might be truly sick and tired of their *****. (pardon my language)

I know, it's asking too much.

Whether it's an issue or not, what really bothers myself is the continued grasp for attention and to place burden on everybody else, to either support or oppose their actions.
