I just know that even the lower end Canons used all glass lenses in their cameras.

BTW I am one of those people that likes to lug around my DSLR, even to small things...

Spent 20 years in Film/TV/ Stills doing everything from Feature Films, to Commercials, Documentaries, Corporate Stuff, Advertising Still work on location (my stock photo collection brought me 405 of my income for years until Corbis bought the agency I sold thru and bought my portfolio for a nice piece of $$$).

I still do 80% of the Architectual still work for my firm for advertising and historical uses and frequently do the same for the building owners on one of our high rise jobs. Just recently finished a series for Ironworkers Local 46 (Rebar Lathers in NYC) and maybe going to Dubai to do a series on the 9 buildings we have under construction there (one of the 6 wonders of Dubai that was on the Discovery channel was one of ours 8=) )

I still use the older glass, Nikon stuff from the first generation Pro digital line. Better glass and better all metal mousings on a new 12MB body.

But the toys are just toys, its what my Eye sees that counts...any ******* can pick up a camera dn shoot a picture, but where to shoot, what to shoot, when to shoot, what does it say, what do you want it to say, etc..that is the difference between a Photographer and a Button Pusher.

I can still make a good living at it and I still enjoy it as I did when I started 38 years ago.

I was the same for a brief period . . . multiple cases/bags with bodies & lenses, ATA road cases with Norman/Metz/Sunpak strobes, battery packs and those annoying softbox lighting stands and umbrellas. I loved the old Nikkor glass, especially the 105mm f/2.5.

I've been testing my new Nikon D80 lately. Only gripe, is when zooming to view images, I can't use one hand since the zoom button is on other side of screen. Mine is already the later model so no more problems early models faced.

WOW! That's a great image. If I tried that with my camera, I would have a blurry mess.

Thanks Chad. For the bird captures, I used fast shutter speeds and wide apertures to get as much light in so it won't get blurry.

Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/1000)
Aperture: f/4
Focal Length: 55 mm

Been practising using manual settings too. It helps a lot that I can control the settings. I've always been used to the automatic modes before. Took the camera for a test drive last Saturday at the beach:
