Just dawned on me who 'Barry' is. Real mature. Think that up yourself, or did World Net cough up that hairball? So far President Obama has displayed a fine tendency to rely on the military commanders. No reason at all to think this situation was any different.

A large portion of the population referred to the previous president as "the shrub" for several years. I don't recall hearing any complaints about that.

Didn't realize he went by Barry, my apologies. Guess he prefers the more formal Barack, but once you self apply a name, you're stuck with it.

Shrub, little bush, more of a cutesy thing than a derogatory one. Besides, Kyle is 'the Shrub'

You weren't listening. People complained plenty, in fact they still do complain about it.

Hey, I'm a rabid NY liberal Jew. I read the New Yorker, the NY Times and the Village Voice. I even listen to Air America once in a while. I never heard anyone call him "the shrub."

I might've called him something derogatory to others who share my opinions, but you can be damn sure that if were trying to debate someone and hopefully change their opinions even a tiny bit, I would refer to the President with respect and criticize his policies and actions with reason.

You lose credibility for yourself and your argument when you start being disrespectful.

Couldn't agree more. Wish that were true for many here on shopforum, it has a tendency to ruin what starts off as a decent debate.

And all this talk of Obama "basking in his success..." Obama took and continues to take a very, very low profile in this episode. He has NOT grandstanded at all.
Exactly right. I pop into Hannity's radio show now and then for research purposes and a couple of days ago he had the Mark Levine character guest hosting. He played the skipper's remarks and said, "Didja notice he didn't mention Obama once?!" As if Obama had jumped up to take credit for the whole thing.

Holy crap Batman, no matter what the outcome, the O man was going to get grief over this incident.

I have no idea whether Obama acted decisively. The problem the Hannity crowd is facing is that they twist, distort, and attack every little thing Obama says or does, so their credibility is nil. Maybe this story will be substantiated by someone worthy of belief, meanwhile all we have is yet another rant from the Obama haters.

Cheney has the same problem. His record of incredible dishonesty has become almost comical. For someone who lies so frequently, you'd think he'd get good at it. At any rate, today he says that the CIA's interrogation techniques worked and claims that he has requested that the rest of the interrogation memos be released. And guess what - almost nobody believes a word he said. Bummer to have blown your credibility, isn't it Mr. Vice President? Of course, the loss to the country is that we lose the institutional knowledge of the former VP. He is just taking up space at this point.
