In all seriousness, my pick would be Nadine Strossen, head of the ACLU. That ought to stick a corn cob in old Bill O'reilly's eye. And don't think it's not possible, Justice Ruth Ginsburg was once the chairman of the ACLU herself.

wow, you think that he is intelligent? he is about as relevant as Rush Limbaugh in subjective credibility and he is far less popular. Remember, he got his start on SNL, not really a bastion of intelligentsia. I have met Al Franken in the 80s when we hosted a Franken & Davis show at my university. He was vapid and full of himself. He spent most of the show insulting our town and the south, then went on to break or injure his ankle jumping from the stage into the orchestra pit...he is about as smart as, umm, Janine Garafalo..

The Truth (with jokes) (Hardcover)

NO. They seem as objective as something peddled by that fat swine Michael Moore. If this is the sort of tripe that got Franken elected in MN, the state has really dumbed down since I last lived there.....

Showbiz can really bring out the worst in people. Even relatively intelligent, nice people can act a complete ass when they start getting in front of cameras and audiences that are there just to watch what they do. Fortunately, it is not a terminal condition. Many can recover with a little help from their friends. Maybe Al is one of those.

No doubt about it.

Apparently not in Minnesota.

I don't doubt that. He should fit in well down on Capital Hill. [EDIT: I guess that would be "up on Capital Hill"]

You mean Michael Moore, not Roger. Roger was 007.

Somebody gave me a copy of "Lies and the Lying Liars who Tell Them" (or whatever that book was called). It was very funny. I'm sure it wasn't intended to be objective.

We all know his most objective piece was my personal favorite, "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot".

Here is a nice synopsis of the female candidates:

Comedians are a lot smarter than actors.

What is her legal record of the last 30 years? How good a judge has she been?

Good question. What does that say about the rest of those who did vote to authorize force in Iraq? Didn't someone say that they feared their political careers if they didn't seem patriotic enough?

The Constitution does not set forth any specfic requirements to be a justice . . . so we're all eligible. There is no specific age or citizenship qualification mentioned.

Based on that Bin Ladin or a "resident" in the dementia unit could become the Souter's replacement but I think we can all agree that the better qualified the candidate, the better off we will be.

Being appointed for life by the President, but with the advice and consent of the Senate . . . the founding fathers must have envisioned the turmoil the selection process would become.

With a 57% majority, there should be no turmoil or excuses.
