Thanks. Its nice to have a dream come true every once in a while. The idea of a all black, Aero II wheeled W124 rattled around in my head for a year. Actually, my dream one had a black leather interior, but the saddle has grown on me quite a bit.

The C36 was more accidental. Now that I had the front bumper resprayed its getting really close to factory fresh looking. It is the nicest condition Mercedes I have ever owned...even nicer than my 2004 E500.

I guess Joe forgot about the euro bumper we hauled that day, along with all our tools, and some other parts. Which happen to still be sitting in my garage...

Coulda picked you up, let me know next time and I'll bring my useful automobile.

I know how you feel. My first Mercedes was my C280. It was a great car on which to cut my teeth, because it basically needed everything. It was pretty cool to take a dowdy w202 with 5 previous owners and make it into a good looking reliable form of transport. Then, in true car enthusiast form I sold it and moved in.

that is what a Cabriolet is.

I thought I could at least fit a new desk in the backseat of the cabriolet from IKEA since their crap is flat packed and usually manageable. nope not at all.

things more useful than a cabriolet

1) Prius
2) wheel barrow
3) anything with fold down rear seats
4) Colin Coon's wagon
5) a redneck pickup truck
6) my old SDL(but this is debatable)
7) something with a real roof
8) two bums paid $50 to haul my purchase home
9) A sled dog team
How about making a BMW Z3 number 10. I seen a guy walk out of a party supply store with a huge bundle of balloons .Big balloons At least 3 foot in diameter. Me and the wife sat there just to see what he was going to get into. He walked up to the beamer and actually opened the trunk first !

After about ten minutes he pushed three in through the window then stood there with three still in his hand. Probably thinking the same as the spectators "how the hell do I get in".

All that was missing was a video camera and some Benny hill music.

You kidding. I would think a Z06 would help more.

damn it.. I wasn't complaining just finally understanding what an impractical car is and damn did I realize that I really can't use a car like this for what I do on a day to day basis. It's good to drive but anything else.. nope I can't even go golfing with it. The CD changer is in the way of a golf bag fitting in it.

in a nutshell, I never knew what it meant to own an impractical car.

you're not green.. lol ... I dont know I started making one of those weird lists that you make from time to time and just started putting junk.

I did send you a text but got no reply. Figured you were at work. I was going to give you that amp to you if you came to my house anyways. I told you you can sell the bumper and keep the cash or throw it in a dumpster lol

How can you NOT fit a flat packed desk into that car? Obviously, you weren't trying hard enough.

2 chairs, a coffee table, a bench, 2 side tables, a 4x8 rug, a pillow, a picnic blanket, AND 2 people all home from Dulles VA in the red miata.

lol.. well I didnt want to mess up the paint or interior. If the weather wasn't crappy I would have been ok with the top down but it was very overcast.

The first time I went there, back in '93, on the way from Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima, to my hotel in Miraflores, I saw a 1956 Ford Country sedan at a stoplight.

It looked exactly like this, even the colors, but it had about 12 mattresses, loosely lashed down to the top of its roof.

Down there, not only do you run what ya brung, you do it FOREVER !!

Car insurance, what's that?

Click and Clack on their show had some guy from Virginia call in, and his 1982 Oldsmobile 88 Custom Cruiser station wagon broke down, and he had no way to pull his horse trailer any more.

They told the guy to let the HORSES pull his station wagon!!

So I think -

They would have told YOU this:

Your NUTS!!!

Don't make fun of the comforter.
