Stock vettes are generally in AS or SS (a stock and super stock) at our autocrosses. Porsche 911's are also in those classes depending on how they are equipped.

The vettes and porsches are pretty quick in skilled hands.

Yes, a real one, not a model. It needs a battery, better tires and a door.
There are bargains around here if you know where to look.

The Thing sound about 100 times more interesting than a chevy. Are there any parts available (other than the ones common to the bug)?

Hey! I use the after-shave VERY SPARINGLY and my kid has been bought and paid-in-full for over 15 years...

Yep but on the front straight of Lime Rock the Miata's get left in the dust and most of those out their are probably putting down 300hp.

Even though they handle well at high speeds even pumped 4 cylinders can't keep up with the big motors.

I notice during the classic races the cars that constantly do good and are at the front of the pack are the Corvettes, 911's and Jag XKE's. But when they throw down on the straights nothing pulls like a pumped up 427.

If you really think it's something you want, go buy one. If you don't like it, you can probably get all your money back out.

That kinda explains why our committee decided that we should take some venues to the straighter tracks. That way, nobody has so much of an advantage. Now everybody has a chance at ultimate best time. It did resolve a lot of the complains that we set up a track that favors the little cars.

The differance is that there is no real reason for all the extra power is my point. From the times I have auto X I dont think I have ever done more then like 45mph LOL. Not saying people dont auto X big american cars. They do but this type of racing is more toward driving skill and handling and not raw power.
