The claimed original people of Egypt- the Copts -the ones who built the Pyramids and the tombs are now a minority in Egypt to the Arabs who invaded in 641. With estimates between 5 and 15 million they are foreigners in their own land. The film in question was made by a Copt and he appears to pissed off ...

He made a film ... to vent his feelings? To piss Muslims off? Because he could? Wanted awareness of Coptic issues?

I was watching the news today and they were interviewing some people on the streets somewhere over there. hey have no idea how this country operates because they have no reference. One of the men who was interviewed asked why Obama, with all the power of the US could not stop the movie from being published on the internet.

They have no idea that anyone can publish anything they want (pretty much) without government approval or oversight. They seem to think that anything that come from the US is sanctioned by the US. The idea that an individual is responsible for it does not even seem to come into the equation.

We need a better PR firm out there to get the word out that we do not operate the same way they do. Might go a long to helping calm some crap down .. may be.

Do you blame them? After all, there are many that LIVE IN THE COUNTRY that seemed to think Obama can do pretty much what he wants. As I have often said, we elected a President and NOT a dictator. Look at the thread here of "If I were President....." or words to that effect.

They probably have no sense of individuality. The religious guy on top tells them that the sky is pink with red polka dots and they'd go along with it.

Thanks for the clarification Bot. I have seen some documentaries about him and never saw any mention at all of any military background. He certainly didn't act like anyone like that.

I stand corrected.

I'm also ashamed to admit that I met him personally when I was about 9 years old or so. I also saw him personally again in 1970. Of ALL the Presidents to have ever known he has to be the worst. Maybe Carter would be more shameful but I don't think so. Johnson was BAD NEWS for America.

Well, I don't know if that really qualifies as military experience. It was more a periferal action relating to his congressional work.

If we had a decent Supreme Court who would strongly uphold the constitution, B.O. would not be such a loose cannon King.

Yep, I think the drones certainly have the attention getting capabilities.

A pilot friend of mine told me that they expect to have 23,000 drones in the air over the middle East within a few years. They're actively recruiting drone pilots. He's a young single guy that is in a position to go over there. He says that the pilots are based on ships somewhere in the area.

I might even give it some thought as I move closer to retirement.

That's another reason for the protesting coming out of the ME. I can't say that I blame them much, when drones have a 30% civilian casualty rate, according the the New America Foundation.

If the Muslim Brotherhood uses civilians as shields, the way that Hamas does, those number will increase exponentially.

It would probably have a much lower civilian casualty rate had they not been using the civilians as a shield or the civilians not allowing them to be used as a shield.

CNN reports this morning that some of the cairo embassy rioters were paid to participate. They don't know who yet.
