By proclaiming my relationship with Jesus Christ I am making no connection with anyone else or any group. This would be like saying that because of the relationship with my wife that I am proclaiming allegiance to all brunettes.

I believe that when it comes to things OTHER THAN religion or belief in God, you are one of the most level headed, common sense and intelligent posting persons on this forum.

When God or faith DOES make it into the conversation, your logic just seems to go off into never never land or something.

What's your point? My point is that by voting for someone that represents your belief, you are responsible for what he does. If your voted goes and tramples other's rights, YOU are responsible. For example, if I vote a known Klansman or member of the White Aryan Nation because he represents my belief that black people are inferior, I am responsible for the trampling of black rights. As long as the person you sponsor doesn't disturb someone else, all is well. The is like a guy who donates to Al Qaeda coming to say "OMG! They blew up a school and killed 100 kids! I didn't do that!".

What you seem to be saying is "I voted for a guy that trampled on the rights of others when it was none of my business to begin with. However, that absolves me from any responsibility for what happened. It was all him and not me.". If that is not what you are saying, please clarify.

We USUALLY can communicate even when we don't agree. Let's do a reset and try to start over.

You and/or others have laid all this stuff on me before indicating that I should not vote for someone with whom I agree. Let's start there.

Finding a politician with which one agrees with on 100% of the issues is virtually impossible. I try to find one that generally represents my beliefs. IF I can find that person to represent me, I vote for them.

Do you take a different approach when selecting someone to represent you?

I agree that there is no 100% agreement. However, that said, when your representative does something that interfere's with someone else, it is hard for you to say you didn't play a role in it.

That said, if you have a legit reason, for example, if we are talking about pushing for the HOA to ban car wrecks on the front lawn because it affects my resale value of the home, fair enough. OTOH, if we push a rule to ban wrecked cars in the driveway of some neighborhood 20 miles away, I look at it as interfering in someone's affair when you have NO legitimate interest. I know I am probably not explaining it well but I hope you get the gist.
