I have no idea which eight pinkos that you're talking about since there are hundreds of thousands or maybe millions in Texas, but no group has yet been ruled out.

I certainly hope that this is not a coming trend. With more and more wimpy people in America, where will they find people brave enough to do these jobs honestly? Maybe that's the problem. Maybe these DA's were the only ones left that couldn't be bought.

There is also the thug that killed the prison official in Colorado. Is this a coming trend?
Someone notify the press as I'm in complete agreement with Larry. Prosecutors and prison officials are not the ones responsible for the really, really mean treatment of bad guys, they are the agents of the public acting, ideally, to protect us from malevolent individuals. I say ideally because some do screw up.

If this trend were to become more widespread, could get harder to find quality people for the positions.

I just read an article that claimed the DA was always armed, so someone must have gotten the drop on him.

Pretty scary stuff. DA's are going to need a lot more security in the future.

By the way, Kaufman is right next to Dallas but is still a very rural place. Very pretty in some places, very rugged and swampy in others. I have not been there for a long time, but fifty years ago it was known for being a few miles and one hundred years from Dallas.

It appears that you are the only one who UNDERSTOOD what I was actually saying. Most readers just thought I was trying to say that because he was a DA he deserved special mourning. Thanks for reading the post without prejudice.

Yes, the shooter made it into their home somehow, maybe undetected.

Creepy

He was Armed, and answered his front door.

This guy was concerned,BUT not concerned enough to CCTV his front Porch ???

1st rule:NEVER answer the Front Door.
["Peep" around the Side of the house at the front door,
Eliminate the Threat,
conduct Search for other Bad Actors nearby,
open front door and drag Perp across threshold.
Call Coroner.]

sounds like a cartel hit.... maybe in a fit of pragmatism, the cartel guys contracted AB to do the work and in order to settle a few scores, did it.

if it is the work of the mexican cartels, going after judges and prosecuters, it is a whole new game now. and, it's one we are NOT ready to play...

It is amazing to me that more DA's and judges are not killed.

When I was on the school board I got some pretty hateful stuff when we were cutting positions to reduce the budget, (yes, I was perhaps the only fiscal conservative on the board....at least the most conservative) I can only imagine what one would get from someone sent to the pen and eventually released.

Yes, that's the difference Tom. Even though those parents, teachers and such, might not have agreed with you and your fellow board members, they were not hardened, calloused, ex cons, so there was a limit for them as to how far they would go, thank goodness.

Anyone willing to assasinate DA's and prison officials, has to be on the fringe, and I don't mean the fringe left or fringe right, I mean the fringe of being a human being. If this is an upcoming trend, we are in DEEP trouble.

I'm pretty sure that if I were a prosecutor or similar, especially where another prosecutor had been shot in the recent past, no way would I open my front door w/o knowing who was there. A peephole is better than nothing but if it's somewhat dark outside and the house is lit inside, you can usually tell when someone is looking through the hole as it darkens when you put your head up to it. Seems technology could find a way around that limitation, as a murderous creep might just shoot through the door.

Better to have well concealed security video cams at all the doors. They're not that expensive, MUCH cheaper than full time security guards, and would give one a big leg up.

The prison official in CO also opened his front door to his killer, not sure on the full details however.

When I drove cab in Seattle, one big reason I didn't carry a gun was the perp can almost always 'get the drop on you.' There were no security screens in that day, and someone behind you will have you at their mercy if that's what they have in mind. Kinda crazy looking back on it. I was attempted scammed many times but never actually held up.

One thing, prosecutors are probably going to need to go into semi-hiding. Perhaps be driven back and forth to the court house by chaffeurs, preferably in a mini-van with mirrored rear windows that they get into in a secure parking garage and then driven out with other similar vehicles so as to cut down on the chances a perp could follow them and ascertain their address. And have the chaffeurs trained in spotting and evading a pursuit vehicle. Also perhaps become practiced in the celebrity sort of plain clothes disguise used to avoid paparazzi.

Would be some cost to it but less than full time security.
