maybe not post them along our borders as sentries, but without all these endless overseas drains, we could work with Mexico to end the violence of the Cartels pretty finally.

I think its unacceptable that we piss and moan endlessly about atrocities in the mid east at length, send our men and women over there to die for peoples who have little appreciation for these efforts, and meanwhile we ignore the drug war directly south of our border on the same continent as us.

Imagine if we invaded northern Mexico like we did Iraq to crush the cartel activity. IMO theres a cause there worth sending military forces into a sovereign country with their consent, who we could assist in stamping out the mess.
