How come we never see any left wing outrage threads? We constantly get these childish end of the world threads and the ones that try to pretend that Obama is Hitler and so forth, but never any left wing rants.

What is the explanation?

Pull up some posts from the early 2000's from this board when GWB was in charge - there was plenty of apocalyptic ranting from the left and lots of defense from the more right leaning members.

Your classification of some members concerns here as 'childish' isn't really very helpful, please remember that great liberal catch-phrase - that the strength of a society is directly proportional to its diversity of thought.

When you are sitting on the left wing tip, then anything to the right of that, even a foot or two, will indeed seem to be lacking in left wing bias.

to those way out on one end, everybody to the left of that is apparently a liberal. Take a look at this thread for examples.

They miss the fact that before you get way out on the other end, there is the middle.

Fortunately, there are still enough people who are moderate in their beliefs and capable of compromise that the country can still limp along.

As an example, the only time ive ever been called a liberal was by zealots on this board who classify themselves as conservative, instead of radical, which is how they appear to people closer to the middle. Outside of this board, Im a moderate independent. I feel no loyalty to either party, and believe that a polarized two party system without thought is dangerous to our society.

Secondly, I agree with the second part of Timfresh's post, with the exception of his belief that Obama is a liberals wet dream, hes far too moderate to be a liberals wet dream.
Back when Bush was haplessly wandering about the white house, there was more complaining from the left side of the spectrum.

All you have to do is discount one members endless character assassination agenda on OD here, and you find the playing field about level. Zealotry doesn't represent either the left or the right, but radical self interest and hypocrisy.
