Bye bye Eric Cantor

House Majority Leader Cantor defeated in primary

Cantor lost the primary to a unknown TP member. Bet Cantor did not see that coming. Seems republicans thought Cantor was to liberal ...... Huh? cantor out spent his opponent by 5:1.

I doubt a Dem will be gaining any power in this seat...it's a very strongly Conservative district. However, I'm glad to see the establishment be rocked by more conservative people.

Trending move against establishment GOP wonks?

Big word here is under funded and still cleaned house.

Quote:
Washington Post earlier:
A conservative challenger is expected to fall far short of defeating House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) in Tuesday's congressional primary. Disorganization and poor funding have stymied the campaign of tea party activist David Brat, even as he tapped into conservative resentment toward a party leader who has been courting the Republican right for years.
Quote:
As BuzzFeed points out, the Cantor campaign's own internal polling had Brat trailing him by 34 points last week.
Boys over Salon messed their drawers over this loss......seems Cantor is the lefts man for amnesty.....LOL

This makes me happy. I wish we could throw the whole lot out, regardless of their party.

This is my Congressional District. Virginia is an open primary state, so I wonder how many Democrats showed up to vote against Cantor.

And it is an extremely Republican district. Most times the Democarats don't even put up a real candidate. One election they ran Ben "Cooter" Jones from Dukes of Hazard, who retired to Richmond. (Yes I know he was elected several terms in Georgia, but he didn't even try to campaign here, just a ballot filler.) The next election the Dems ran a Psychologist who liked to lead clothing optional counseling retreats.

Republicans have long been accused of doing nothing in their jobs but cashing their checks. The only good thing that could be said of this was at least they were not cashing them at the liquor store.

The Republican answer for this critical view of their way of doing, or actually not doing, things was to tell the voters that they should be judged by what they did not do and not by what they did.

And tonight, the voters judged Cantor for all of his hard work to make sure that no hard work could ever be done.

And anyone that thinks the left is sad to see Cantor gone is delusional. The Tea Party guy may not be the sharpest political guy around (yet) but I doubt that he will go to DC just to be ornamental.

Where I worked, it was Dems pretty much who didn't show up for work and had major disciplinary issues.....relying on the union to save their sorry asses.

Don't think you got it quite right....

Over on Salon, they were convulsing somewhat to the fact that they were cool with him for lawless amnesty.

I love this. Ignoring facts cost the Republicans the Presidential election in 2012 and tonight it cost Cantor his job.

I was tuned in to a right wing radio show tonight and the host was ranting about how long is it going to take for Republicans to understand they can't keep living in their fantasy world if they want to hold on to their jobs? The hard core can make excuses and criticize others for the failings of their people, but they are only fooling themselves. Tonight proved they sure can't fool the voters.

But this concerns me because if Republicans ever stop believing their own lies then they might actually amount to something. I like the fact that they are melting down and being replaced by people who are willing to work.

And it sounds like over where you worked you had some really lousy management to ever let a situation get to the point that the Union had to be involved.
