Amazon.com return issues.....

Have been a satisfied amazon.com customer for the past ten years. yes, a few items have been returned to them, credit was given within 10 days of return. Recently, amazon has changed their policy; they now take up to 60 days to credit your account on a return.

60 days has come and gone on an item I returned over 70 days ago; multiple chats with their customer service agents and still no satisfaction. I've weathered about six major bankruptcies in the past of fortune 100 companies and have learned to read the tea leaves. IMHO, amazon.com is in trouble, here is a bit more

Unhappy Tough Days Ahead

I too have noticed declining Customer service at Amazon .

I recently bought some 6 volt LED bulbs and they failed, no way to claim a refund .

Interesting. Seems they have more and more competition. Walmart has a pretty good mail order set up. Home Depot has a lot of mail order but their stuff takes 7 to 10 days to get frequently. I thought Amazons big edge would be the two day prime shipping.

But who knows, maybe they’ve grown too fast.

My former shop was originally about 1.5 miles away from Facebook headquarters. At least when they were still at 1 Hacker Way, site of the semi-famous thumbs up billboard. But then they moved across the street and started building. When I left they were about .8 of a mile away. It is a giant, juggernaut-like complex, must be seen to be believed. I have to wonder when it’s going to be too much.

But I would be surprised if Amazon goes away anytime soon.

I am putting together a complaint letter to Amazon's HQ in Washington state. Believe it or not, I am using information from a book I purchased FROM amazon to help format my complaint letter:

so far I've managed to re-steer around $500 in new purchases to non-amazon venders since amazon.com decided to give me the short shrift. I have been able to buy the same product(s) at the same or less money than amazon and in some cases a better warranty/guarantee was offered. All of this over a $108 refund they owe me.

I'm sending a detailed order/inventory sheet to amazon head quarters showing how much they have lost in sales from my hip national bank.

Interestingly, one of the main reason Wal-Mart and Sam's Club grew at the rates they did was because of Sam Walton's 100% money back, no questions asked return policy. You show up at Wal-mart's customer service desk with the purchase receipt and a resellable product and you get your money back. No muss, no fuss. Seems like amazon hasn't learned this valuable lesson.

Tonight I used a new 3200 PSI westinghouse pressure washer with a harbor freight foam canon filled with Rain-X foaming car wash mix. You can read a more detailed account of my car washing experience on the detailing forum. I used an expanding garden hose I purchased from amazon.com about two years ago. This hose has worked very well so I was surprised when I went to remove it from the pressure washer the cut-off valve broke off!

In the 15 or so years I have been an Amazon.com customer I have never left a negative review. That said, for some reason they recently removed and restricted my ability to leave any reviews for any reason. Because of that I cannot leave a review or communicate with the seller of the garden hose. I will be purcashing a new garden hose locally which means Amazon.com loses yet another sale.

It's important to keep in mind that company policies and practices can change over time, and it's possible that Amazon made adjustments to their return process for various reasons. While delays in crediting accounts can be inconvenient, they might be due to internal processes or external factors that are affecting the company's operations. Machine learning models can analyze historical sales data, market trends, seasonal patterns, and external factors to predict future demand for products. This helps e-commerce businesses optimize inventory management, reduce stockouts, and https://mlsdev.com/blog/machine-learning-in-ecommerce.

I think that policy died with Sam Walton. My experience with Walmart returns is not good. They are pickier than most.

Lowes and Home Depot have cycled between shockingly cooperative to unreasonably restrictive. A couple of years ago, I witnessed someone bring in a many years old, fully assembled ceiling fan with no receipt and no box and getting their money back. But the pendulum has swung the other way (no doubt due to customer abuse) and they now have a strict 30 day window plus a receipt policy at my local stores.

The major problem I have with amazon is that there are a ton of counterfeit items so you are not always sure you are getting the real thing when it matters. But it's pretty convenient for everyday stuff - saved a lot of trips to the store so I'm not ready to give it up yet.

As far as Walmart goes, it's never a pleasant experience shopping there for me so I only occasionally order oil from there for delivery. They have a 90 day return policy but it's not very fun to actually return something there - it's not costco.

Bingo. Just received word from a health supplement manufacturer that ordered THEIR own product from amazon.com. They then performed strict ingredient testing on the amazon.com product to see if it matched up with their own product's ingredients. Guess what? the amazon.com product that carried THEIR label didn't come CLOSE!

And, don't forget, this is a product YOU INGEST.
