W126 560 SEL relay locations

Yup, I searched here, there, Google. Trying to identify ALL of the relays in the fuse box. I know what ones does, but there is another I want to check out that may be causing an issue I have had since day one.

I checked the online manuals and could not find it there either.

I know for sure its in the circuit diagram index in the FSM. Became veeeerry intimate wiwth that section when wiring my orthopedic seat pump to the proper (X30) spot.

If you don't find it by noonish I'll link it up for ya.

I think this should help

Thanks Army. I will look through that. So far it has come up empty for anything relating to memory seating/comfort circuit. The fuse diagram in my car mentions it specifically, so far I have not come across that in this but will keep looking.

And the relay map indicates none specifically. Which tells me the relay may be one in the same. (seat + memory)

In short I am still trying to figure out why memory seating is dead, yet seat controls are fine. All the seat motor pots look okay. Does anyone know if just one is bad will memory seating fail for all adjustments of just not adjust the one "bad" motor?

I am not super good at reading these, so does this indicate that the relay is one in the same? (see attached).

Thanks for any help.

How did that go? I saw the thread but I dont think you updated a conclusion about getting it working in that thread.

Obviously a side view; looks like G and H are the relevant ones in the fuse box.

If I recall correctly, the comfort module draws power from the X30 to right under you for the comfort control relays. X30 block is under the plastic footwell for your left foot with the recess for the parking brake.

The orthos are absolutely fantastic. I led an active childhood and at my young age already have back problems. With these seats, I haven't had a single pain or strain since the install. Totally worthwhile endeavor if you ever acquire the bladders.

Thats the diagram I have and printed. I will look at the module you speak of, but I am certain nothing resides in that location. I have had that area apart many times. But I will look again, its been a while!

I would love to do the ortho install, but concerned about a factory look and finish. How did you mount the controls? Any pics? Its probably the one feature I wish I had. My prior car had a lumbar support mechanism. In fact I thought of maybe stealing a set from that type of car (Mark VIII) and fitting them into the Benz. Would only be single bladder, but would be nice. And the controls are tiny and easy to place.

So you're looking for what is inhibiting your memory function loss? According to the circuit diagram, if those relays and the diode in the fuse box are good, you probably have a faulty control box which is in the seat frame. If it isn't there, then it's missing! It should be clipped to the seat bottom frame.

My orthopedic set is a full factory set with 5 bladders with 5 pressure settings each. It has the factory controllers and vacuum set up, so the controls are mounted as in a factory set up. There's a holder that clips to the seat belt buckle. I'll take a pic soon, but you'll have to excuse the interior as I removed it to do a dash swap today

Thats the thing, the seat control also powers the seats. And seat function is fine. EXCEPT the passenger seat, where if I apply forward motion burns up a track of the circuit board. If I bypass, it will burn the bypass!

In either seat the memory has never worked. Which would be odd that both seats are dead that way. Today I plan to take it apart again. My only thought is that someone re-wired them incorrectly. The connectors were certainly molested, but I am not sure if that is a cause or result of the seat issues. I will use the diagrams to help match up the wires within the plugs. The PO really messed up this car.

If you need me to find you another PDF on startek you need to give me very simple to follow instructions - I don't think I've ever seen a 560SEL let alone its electrics...

More confused. The wiring PDF I have shows no module under the right seat, just the left. And yes is the "B" version, with memory seating. Yet I have a module under each seat loaded with relays that engage when moving seat.

What a pain when flying blind.

Thanks. Pretty much finding what I need now.

By the way, the above post refers to this PDF:

http://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/outside/12253/disc%202/program/Chassis/82-0860.pdf

As you can see, the left seat shows no module, or even the ability to have memory function. Guessing a mistake. Dont know.

Well screw this! lol Nothing matches up. I dont think there is a proper wiring diagram for 91. The right matched the sheet better than the left even did.

I think I may take some pics of the connectors. I will then post them and see if anyone would be kind enough to compare to their own.
