Removing the center storage box
Need to replace the sliding wood door which fell apart. I don't see any screws to remove it.

420;
If it's like my '90 560 SEL, you've gotta remove the two screws at the front bottom of the storage container (i.e. below where the wooden accordion cover clicked in to the lock. Then you take out the entire storage unit. There are some screws which secure the plastic sides of the container; remove those, and you will then be able to slide the accordion cover out. FWIW, I repaired mine, and it works great. The wood pieces are simply glued to a fabric backing. I literally used Superglue and reattached the wood pieces (very closely together) to the fabric. This then fits into a slide which extends the bottom of the storage unit. This will be apparent when you take it apart. Either way, this will be necessary for you whether you repair or replace. Good luck!

Well that was easy.The problem with the door is that one of the tabs that allow the door to slide is broken.BTW: How does the Zebrano wood where the window switches are come off. I wan't to sand and renew it.

hmmmm; haven't had to take that off. I suspect it's attached in some straightforward way to the door panel. Just take the panel off; I'll bet it's apparent upon inspection. Door panel comes off by unplugging the lighter and light on bottom of door, unscrewing the doorlock pull, removing the two screws under the arm rest, pulling the black plastic cover plate from behind the interior door handle/pull, the screw holding the door handle/pull (which you'll see when you pull the plastic cover plate, a third screw holding the top of the door handle on, and the two screws holding the chrome surround on the leading edge of the door around the pin that goes in to the striker. If it's a back door, you need to also unscrew the plastic trim on the top/back of the door over the triangle window. Then gently pull up and out on the door panel; it's held on by a few downward facing plastic tabs, and the top of the panel holds on to a metal lip running along the top of the door frame. Disclaimer; your vehicle may be the older type, in which case the panel may be held on a a series of plastic tension clips around the door panel; use a paint scraper or other similar tool and wedge it between the door frame and panel, starting on the bottom somewhere (because it's easiest). Good luck!
