Engine swap- 1985 280E into a 108 chassis

I have a 280E engine that I pulled from a wrecked W123, and a friend wants me to put it in his older 280S (108 chassis). The 280S was carbureted, and the newer engine is fuel injected. I am a Diesel guy, so I am not sure how to go about hooking up the electrics and such. Taking out the old engine and putting in the new is no problem. I don't want to take on the project unless I am confident that I can get the systems working properly. Has anyone here done something like this? Do you know what is involved? How much of the E injection and ignition system will I need from the donor? Thanks in advance, Rich
