Rollguy I plan to do the conversion on the one I'm working on this weekend. Still curious how the system works on r134 in the w123?
I have had great results with 134a and the stock condenser. I suggest that you add a relay to run the condenser fan anytime the compressor is engaged. This gives the condenser the air flow it needs to handle the extra heat generated by the less efficient refrigerant. The factory thermal switch is most often late in turning on the fan, so the relay gives the fan a head start, and helps with cooling. The extra efficiency of the Sanden (compared to the R4) is enough to make up for the inefficiency of the refrigerant (at least that is my experience). A parallel flow condenser works even better with this system.....Rich
