Low side hard pipe for 123

I also made up a spare low side hard pipe for a 123:

For those of you having it done locally, this is what it should look like with the provided fitting welded in:

Do you still need cores for the W126 hoses? I pulled the manifold hoses off my W126 after I sent you the spare I had in the garage. Now I have another set of hoses that I don't really have a need for.

I can always use an extra set so I can have a rebuilt hose kit ready to sell. I only need the two ends with the charge ports on them. The R4 manifold is not needed anymore....Rich

Thumbs up HIGH ACCOLADES TO "ROLLGUY" THE AC MAN

Just wanted to take a moment to thank-you for the Sanden AC conversion kit that I recently purchased from you. The fit, material and quality engineering is way more than what I had anticipated.

The product you sell is "VERY WELL" thought out and executed.

Anybody that gets one of these from you cannot go wrong.

Anything bolted to a diesel has to be rugged, and your kit is surely that.

Excellent value for the dollar.

Thanks-again.

Have a good one......

Thank you for the thumbs up. If you have read the old posts about how this system came about, you would see my frustration with the R4 that motivated me to make this system for my car. I wanted the A/C to be durable and long lasting, so the Sanden was the best choice. Yes it has had issues along the way and I have had to replace some components that have failed, but overall I have many happy customers. I intend to keep it that way. Thanks again, Rich

See if you can find a "Tubes N Hoses" business in the area Don. They can modify the hose for you.

Rollguy I plan to do the conversion on the one I'm working on this weekend. Still curious how the system works on r134 in the w123?

I used a local radiator/air conditioner shop. They did very nice work.

I usually offer that service when a complete kit is ordered. The pipe is sent to me, and I modify it and send it back with the hose kit. However, you already have the kit. If you can't find someone local, you can send me the pipe and I will modify it for you. The cost is $40 which includes return postage......Rich

I have had great results with 134a and the stock condenser. I suggest that you add a relay to run the condenser fan anytime the compressor is engaged. This gives the condenser the air flow it needs to handle the extra heat generated by the less efficient refrigerant. The factory thermal switch is most often late in turning on the fan, so the relay gives the fan a head start, and helps with cooling. The extra efficiency of the Sanden (compared to the R4) is enough to make up for the inefficiency of the refrigerant (at least that is my experience). A parallel flow condenser works even better with this system.....Rich

The pipe on the left in the photo is all I need (was mounted horizontally on top of the engine). Cut the rubber part off as close to the metal as possible. The rest can be discarded (or recycled). The short piece of hose that is clamped to the frame on the right side next to the drier can be removed as well (I can't tell if it is part of the assembly in your photo). The new hose connects right to the condenser, and gets clamped using the existing clamp......Rich

Sorry, I oversold the kits I had on special, sold 5 instead of just the 4. The regular price is $435 (5 cyl comp) or $455 (7 cyl comp) + $45 S/H/I (2 Priority Mail cartons @ $20 & $25). Add $20 for the extra hose if running a PF condenser.....Rich
