gravity filtration
.
hi guys, anyone has some info or experience with gravity only filtering wvo is the gravity itself enough or it must be pushed by pump,presuming that is outside temp 25C / 75F and filter setup is 20/10/5 micron (in filter housing)? thanks ChO .

Lots of experience with gravity filtration. Works fine as long as you have plenty of time. Heat will speed the flow.
Immediately after my de water cycle I drain threw the filter. I set the bottom drain to trickle as not to overwhelm the filter outflow. I've even been brave enuf to walk away for a few hours. That's it! simple and adiquate for my personal use. very easy and certainly a lot cheeper than pumps and filter housings.

WVO station
Here is my WVO fuel station.
Settled, dewatered oil goes in the top 5 gallon bucket which has a plastic 100 micron strainer that fits over the top lip. (Strainer shown in front of top bucket) That drains into larger blue bucket which has 25 micron sock filters in it. (Sample sock filter shown in front) Finally, the fuel is drained through a 5 micron sock filter into a 33 gallon barrel. 12V electric fuel pump is used to fill the car. It has served me well for three years. Good Luck, Jeff

Centifuge
I use a bowl centrifuge. It is on a timer and makes four passes for each 30 gallons of oil. I change the filters on my cars every 5000 miles when I change the oil on my cars. They never clog and never have issues. But I filter 100-150 gallons a week I do not have time for slow.

I pour settled WVO into the first barrel, which overflows through a triple water filter set up (30, 15, and 10 microns), into a secondary barrel which I pump into a cone bottom tank with a water pump hooked up to it. This water pump acts as a mixer (for my blend) and as a pump to my fuel nozzle when it's time to fill up the Benz. My filtration system was based on this diagram (thanks John Galt)

I also have added a heat exchanger recently which I am liking on these colder mornings.

I've been using a cold upflow system to clean UVO for about seven years now. It works very well and produces all the clean fuel I need.

John, I think you put me onto Coorga Quik N Dri dewatering resin. I just use a packed column now. Strainer on inlet and 5 micron sock on outlet. Crackle test is good as long as the column outlet is submerged. Otherwise the trickling stream picks up significant moisture from the air.
