I do love my car, but I don't think I've ever licked it ...

Yes

It does work.

However chipmunks and squirrels may find your door handles tasty.

I have seen several handles chewed in this way.

Have a great day.

I'm here for the first time and landed in such a fun thread... I have fun fun fun...
Just bought 2000 S500 yesterday but no manuals included, don't know how to change the time on the dash, also don't know how to set up the auto lights, can anybody give me a quick tip before I would get the books from web ( btw any tips which site is the best?). Why there is no S class category set up for help? tx

Unhappy

I absolutely love my Merc!!! I didn't get any help from you guys, I thought this is such a petty thing and I would easily set it up with someone's willingness... oh well... I just bought a set of disks with the factory and operator's manuals and a computer plug ($140) which I can connect into my Merc and get all the codes and info (just got the warning "check engine" but after few hours went out, I change the gas to V-power, add some stuff in there and it is all good). I am a little bit disapointed that I wasn't able to get any help in here...
I have Lexus LS400 and two Range Rovers (besides others) and any time I have a problem people helped me instantly, the dealer was always the last resort (totaly helpless in Land Rover case).

Get out of here...you are making that up!

But seriously...does anyone know how long the peanut butter effect lasts?

Andy - You're in the Detailing & Interiors section, in a old thread about peanut butter. Not surprising you didn't get help.

Go into the main Tech Help section and post a new thread. The helpers will be beating down your doors.

Exclamation *** Use JIF Version 2111... ***

There's a large, free, source for peanut butter since the stores are throwing out the salmonella-tainted JIF-brand of their peanut-butter (Coded 2111... on top of the containers.).

Then, when the chipmunks & squirrels start licking/chewing on your parts (Hey! I don't know where else you're smearing the stuff!!!), they'll come down with the "chipmunk/squirrel squirts" and eventually die-off from dehydration.

Somehow, after typing that last sentence, I'm not sure what's worse...faded parts or dead, poisoned, mammals with crap all over the yard and trees...

local shady used car dealer tried this trick.
The chipmunks and squirrels made a mess of the door handles.

I don't have enough will power I'd be eatting the peanut butter before it hit the door handles. BTW was that smooth or crunchy he used?

i bought turtlewax's "ice" at the recommendation of a friend... its safe for rubber, metal and plastic, and it made my door handles, bumper guards and trim look brand new.
