'84 190D won't shut off
After an oil, air and fuel filter change and having much frustration getting the vehicle to start (air in the fuel lines slow to bleed) the engine continues to run when I turn off the ignition switch and remove the key. Even disconnecting the battery will not stop the engine from running.
While changing out the pre-filter I snapped the nipple off what the MB dealer called a "fuel heater' and had to replace the $2.25 (perhaps the cheapest MB part available) plastic end piece that is retained in the assembly by a C-clip. Am pretty clueless as to how a Diesel engine is shut off? Tis better to have it running and clutching it off then to not have it running! Thanks for the help, this is a great forum. |
