And how about those chrome fender liners you see once in a while...?

Jeez....

But *condition* of the car is the important thing to me. Nothing wrong with repainting a PINK classic if it's mechanically sound otherwise.

BTW - did Mary Kay ever give out MB's...?

I did once.
I was looking at a 70 220d, one owner all original car a few years ago.
After many emails, pics and phone conversations I drove from NH to NJ to take a look at it.. I was told it was yellow, I kind of like the soft MB yellow, so I had that pictured in my mind..

When I got there the car was pulled into the driveway, as I approached I saw what I thought was a Checker MB Taxi cab, thats the shade of yellow it was, different than what I pictured.. I was shocked and instantly hated the color on that model MB.

If I did not have such an extensive conversation with the owner I would have kept on drivng past it and back to NH.

I went for a drive with the car and it was perfect, a show car.. I checked everything and was quite happy with the condition..
I told the owner I would call him next day... I wanted to sleep on it to see if I would like the yellow in the morning.

Well the next moring I decided I could not got through with it so I called the seller and told him that I liked the car and its well kept condition, but I could not get past the yellow.. He understood and a few weeks later I wound up buying a 43k mile 1970 280s in Florida, all original..
Drove it back to NH and enjoyed it for a couple of years..
It went to Sacromento from here to its new owner..

I never regretted I passed on the yellow 220d..

Time for lessons?

So, Leathermang, can we all gather in the heart of Texas for some tips on covering up the poor choices of others?

I have two shades of MB "yellow" in my driveway. Some of my friends (who don't know squat about cars) can never tell which Benz I'm driving even though one is a 123 and the other a 126. I looked at a black SD the other day and my wife's only comment was "maybe we can get another color."

I have passed on a few shades of green in my life!
