Just that the thread is being "bumped" back to the top of the list. Sometimes done in hopes of garnering more attention and additional responses.

By posting something new. Such as asking a question like you just did.

Whoever started that rumor was as dumb as a box of rocks. That has to be one of the most asinine theories ever originated.

Post I'm Sorry

That you are *so* insecure that you find it necessary to come to a DIY help Forum and beat up on the folks who will be keeping these old cars alive long after you're bored and gone back to whatever you liked before .

Me , OTOH , I'm a Journeyman Mechanic who's near retirement and still learning

Unlike you , I learned long ago that one can learn from every question ~ example , you prolly are not a good Mechanic or you'd be happy to share your experience .

Convince me that there are no dumb questions. Give it your best shot.

After all, you decided to that the theory was important enough to post. Tell me why the notion is so earthshaking. And why does it get repeated so often?

I read these post to learn. I'v learned to not ask dumb questions. So I'll try making a dumb statement.

Dumb is a subjective term. I don't know, perhaps its more relative or a matter of perspective than subjective. Say that out loud. Does that sound dumb or what?

Post BECAUSE

Only *you* think it's " earthshaking " ~ everyone else just thinks it's smart to ask before mangling a perfectly good machine .

Thumbs up Startron By Starbrite

It certainly does ! .

All Diesel o0wners should carry at least a pint of it in the trunk just in case .

Any time your primary (smaller , clear) fuel filter begins to turn black you should immediately add 3 Oz. of Startron to the fuel tank as a prophylactic measure .
