How much does the StarTron cost and where didi U get it.
I used Biobor. It worked great but was expensive, about $40 and another $40 for shipping because it was considered a hazardous chemical.

Any Marina or boat supply has this product, generally for $20.00

I got my BioBor for $12 locally (and it has the neat bottle that allows you to measure how much you are putting in the tank).

It probably kills kittens, too..but that doesn't get you to buy it.

Deceptive marketing?

My bottle of soltron (same sorta stuff) just claims to kill microbes...whatever that means. I guess anything living in the tank will die, must be pretty lethal stuff.

I'll toss in my results on StarTron. Never had a problem with clogged filters. My reserve light quit working in the late 80's or early 90's. Never fixed it, I just watch the gauge closer.

Last year, I noticed dark discoloration in my transparent fuel filter. Went to West Marine and read the bottles of Biobor and StarTron. Decided against Biobor as it seemed more likely to cause the filters to plug while StarTron would keep them open. I used the StarTron and the dicoloration cleared. My reserve light now works again. I now treat every tank of diesel from small premixed bottles I keep in the trunk containing 2 oz of StarTron and 10 oz of 2 cycle oil (concerned about lack of lubricity in ULSD).
Happy with results. Discoloration gone, light works again after manny years, and car idles better than it has for some time.

Question Anyone ? Anyone ? Beuller ?

Fungus grows in the dark , Algae needs sunlight . therefore , you CANNOT have Algae in your fuel tank .

Remember 7th grade science class ? I don't either .

Startron is the ***** .

Taking apart & cleaning the fuel sender is easy , I scraped about 1 OZ. of black fungus goo out of mine , Startron never had a chance at that .

If like me you don't have anyplace close to get it, Amazon has StarTron 16.66-21.something and 33.something for the 8-16 and 32 oz. bottles. Free ship if you have Amazon Prime.
