The aliteration works, but lacks accuracy -- perhaps Mighty Mouse-Mobile? Mickey's MB?

Can't we all agree that the more posts we get from Sunny, the more prose our forum is regaled with!! Great story.....
BTW, I googled "how to keep mice out of cars", or something like that, and the dryer sheet method had a large presence. So did moth balls, but I might welcome the warm smell of death over moth balls. We have to use them around the house from time to time to try and keep the skunks from residing under the house, and they even make it smell awful in the great wide open!! I put 2 dryer sheets under the passenger kick panel of China and 2 hanging down into the defrost vents, and will be putting some in the white wagon and the Batmobile. I hate the thought of mice getting in there. Poor E300, spent its entire life parked in the garage of its doctor owner, and sits outside over here face to face with a fence line and pasture. It isn't like the dash comes apart easily on those either!!!! 2 years later I still never found the mouse that died in the white wagon. Smell is gone but the constricted fur pile has to be in there somewhere. What horrors that evap box can hide......

Well, I had today off so I washed China for the first time since right before Sunny's GTG last year!
I also evacuated the system of R134a since it was a tad low after about 3 years and wasn't cooling below 70 degrees or so. I bought some Envirosafe last year just for this car, so this evening I decided to go ahead with it. Since Envirosafe doesn't turn acidic from moisture it is a fairly easy process. I vented the R134a, replaced the inner Schrader valve, installed a new R134a port on the low side. With a syringe I squirted in about 4ozs of Pag-150 into the low port, then turned the compressor about 20 times. Installed the AC gauges from Autozone, hooked up the vac pump from Autozone, and pulled a vac for an hour. I guess I didn't need to, but I just couldn't hardly stand "not" doing it. Then I pumped in 2 cans of Envirosafe. Temp was about 95 degrees in the garage. Low side at a high idle was about 26 and high side was about 260. Went driving around this evening and got vent temps down to 41 degrees. We'll see how it does during the heat of the day.......

Just wondering what they are putting in something called envirosafe.
I have been using propane for a while now, definatly not envirosafe. And a word of caution, never put a can of freeze 12 into a campfire.

Safe for the ozone, yada yada yada....... We'll see how it performs. It sure makes some things easier, as far as not turning acidic with the presence of moisture. And for all the alarmists, I think my chances of blowing up aren't that high.... It isn't as flammable as gasoline. Anyway, don't want to hose up my China thread with refrigerant talk.......

Well, I replaced the starter in China today in preparation for her finding a new home. On the old starter, sometimes the bendex wouldn't pop out and contact the flywheel. I'm guessing that this is the last repair item I will do on this beloved little 240D. Sure has been fun these last years.
The starter on a 240D is so simple! You can get to the top screw from the top, and the bottom screw is right there in the open underneath, just jack the car up a bit. With air cleaner removed and the intake support brace removed, the starter just lifts right out the top/front. Was pretty much finished with that in less than an hour. I then aired up the spare, vacuumed the trunk, hood pockets, trunk lip, etc. Also aired up all the tires, although they didn't really need much. Even installed the driver's side kick panel. I've kept them off all the W123's just so I can access behind the dash, under the dash, etc...... This has to be about as rust free as these cars can get, because there is NONE. Anywhere!!! The coating is still on the bottom of the car. I'm guessing Tyler won't have much trouble at all finding this special little car a new home. Depressed........

China is supposedly on its way up here. Of course it will be greeted by freezing rain and snow.
Thankfully she'll be in the heated shop with the white wagon.

Oh, my....
I'm so very sorry you're having to let China go. She's been there as long as I've been on the Forum, I think, and I will never forget her with her polka dots, or your story about showing her to her LOL (little old lady) PO after you'd done the rest of the polish. How will I know you on the road? This is so sad.....I'm sorry, Jimmy.
