Anyone got a scrap 616 or 617 block?

I am looking for a scrap block that can be cut up to make a fixture. Does anyone have a scrap 616 or 617 block laying around? I am in need of the part of the block around the area that holds the A/C mounting aluminum casting. I will be using if to make a welding fixture for my Sanden compressor brackets. Installing a Sanden compressor on a 617- looking at all options
I have been using a fixture I made, but it needs to be more accurate. What a better fixture than an actual factory block. If you have a scrap block, I would also like to have just the section I need cut out and shipped to me. It would not be cost effective to send an entire block. The cast iron can be cut with a carborundum blade (metal cut-off saw), or maybe a torch. I would be happy to pay for your efforts and shipping (of course). I need the entire section that has the 3 casting mounting bosses on the block, and the large hole that holds the compressor just below the vacuum pump. It also needs the tab that sticks out just above the upper pan. Please let me know if you have a donor block that is on it's way to the scrap yard, and a way to cut off the desired portion. Thanks, Rich

I am in So. Cal. Let me say that I do not want anyone to cut up a usable block. One that has a hole in the side (but not the A/C compressor side!), or worse is fine to cut up before scrapping. I have a good blocks that I have been using as a welding fixture, but I want to finish building this engine for my other 123.....Rich

Are the bosses on the lower port side of early 616s and 617s originally fitted with York style compressors high on the starboard side the same as the bosses of later 616s and 617s?

As long as it has/had an R4 compressor, it will work.

Would you be willing or able to cut off the portion of the block that I need?

If a 616 block is going to be butchered, it would be great to cut it to see where the oil gallery is to add piston squirters.

I would like to know that as well, as it will help when I get started on my 240D Turbo project.

Cutting it is no problem, just need to take it apart first. It is a 78 and think it may have had the york compressor.
