1987 300sdl

I'm the second owner. Currently hibernating in Mom's garage. Going home for T-giving and taking Th' Beast on a short 1K mile road trip while I'm there

I believe each of these cars are the final production year for that model.

Cabernet Red Metallic with Creme Beige Interior. Original owner. How can you sell a car that's built like a tank and gets 25 mpg in the city/suburbs. About 145,000 miles. One door ding.

1986 300SDL, Champagne (gold) like the one 2 posts above, with Brown interior. FWIW, it too has the rare power rear seat. Bought from original owner about 2 months ago. 68K miles. #14 head.

The only love I've had a chance to give it so far is an oil change (top sided it), 2 new tires, polish, and other minor stuff. Tomorrow I will finish putting in the aftermarket stereo. I have new 4 new speakers and an amp too but I might wait until winter or spring to do the amp.

been looking for info, unable to find anywhere.
does the 86 sdl 300 need manual valve adj.?
I'm getting ready to remove the intake manifold to change the GPs
and this would be a good to it if its needed.
thanks

No the 603 has hydraulic lifters. No valve adjustments needed.

1986 SDL - 316,079 miles on it for the last 6 years.

I bought it 5 years ago with a couple of holes in the block. The last big-end cap came off the connecting rod on a previous owner rebuild. I tore it down when I got it and stored the car in a garage on my mom's farm. Since then I've had the trans rebuilt and I've got a new carpet and the interior from a late model 560SEL. I'm ready to build the engine back up, but I've got a bit of a connecting rod issue I have to deal with first.

Interior - leather light brown / java (274)
Paint - smoke silver metallic (702)

I'm very excited about getting it running by springtime.
