I've posted before about my entire family and friends referring to Ol' Turbo as the Valdez... The moment I pulled into the garage, my dad quickly shoved an piece of carpet under the motor to prevent staining the concrete floor.

hmm... 5 days of sitting, and this is what I get.

Is it that unusual for a 617 not to mark its territory? Both Norm and Ol' Turbo (minus oil cooler lines/tires plus incidences) leave things pretty dry.

Looks like I'll be hitting the road tomorrow morning, since bad snow is predicted Monday from my doorstep to Green River, Utah and will continue for the next few days.

Its snowing buckets right now, and temperatures are supposed to get frigid tomorrow. I'm off to get some anti-gel and perhaps some chains at Walmart.
Try going to Beavercreek High School
yea... lets just say my poor 240 showed its beaver pride.

I'm pretty sure mine has a very tiny leak at the turbo drain seal. It was discussed before that the 617 engine was notorious for leaking if I recall.

Tyler...that is very clean; but others on here do have cars that do NOT drip. Coda on the other hand......well, I'm glad you posted this carpet pic because I just went out and snapped this pics. Cardboard has been down for a few weeks and I know I have a fuel leak from the IP delivery valve(s). But, I also see something very disturbing in the 2nd pic. My oil change container is still there awaiting to be dumped (waiting on the truck to carry the oil to the recycler) and I see some RED fluid on top of it. When Coda is in her parking spot, the front of the engine is over that area. Time to check my transmission cooler lines. Oh, and the fuel leak is obvious, huh? No oil drips though. Maybe the fuel leak is keeping the oil "washed" off the engine.

One day....Coda will be returned to all her previous glory.

One day this year.

I hope.

Yikes, Coda must have quite an annual fluids bill.

China is my only MB that really doesn't leak. Funny since she has the highest mileage engine, the one from poor ol' Scar.
Both the wagons have some drippage. Haven't really chased them much. Often it is fuel leaks, but by the time it runs down the engine it appears to be oil.....

Quite the contrary --- I even find Diesel in the junkyard. Although, only Rotella goes in the oil filler cap, and Schnuck's here has the grocery bill credit that can be used toward fuel costs.

I arrived in Las Vegas without incident just in time for dinner. Unfortunately it was too dark for any decent photos in Vegas and Ol' Turbo is filthy...

It started with a safe and slip free drive down the treacherous driveway.

Then came the most beautiful drive I have ever experienced. I've done Glenwood Canyon enough times to become complacent, but Utah, wow!

I uploaded to youtube video of some of the canyon drive, ignore my horrendous sing-along to Nat King Cole that can be faintly heard.

*edit* did an audio swap with some classical music instead... No one wants to hear me sing...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Es_-Z56qH4c

Pictures:

Entering Glenwood Canyon right before I shot the video.

Leaving the Colorado Rockies...

...and greeted with the Utah rockies??? They look quite a bit different.

My stop in Green River, Utah... I didn't have time to stop for a burger, Kerry, but it was an interesting town. The only photo snapped was along side a mammoth blade for a Wind power generator.

Black Dragon Canyon, and a very dirty Ol' Turbo.

Approaching Vegas at nightfall is equally amazing... From about 15 miles North you look down on the city and see nothing but lights from the left horizon to right. Unfortunately my camera could not capture it.

Arrival at the Monte Carlo valet... Hope the car will be safe until tomorrow, then a proper cleaning and photo shoot along the strip.

The first image you posted just tonight is simply STUNNING. I love the bright light and the contrast of the snow, plus your car's stance "I'm ready" kind of look to it.

You're having so much more fun than any of us right now! I would have loved to join you on your trip. Only a few more days to go.

When is your arrival here in California?

Yep, the first two shots are amazing, and the one with the wind turbine blade is a great pic also. Staggering how long those things are!!!!
Great trip so far, and we appreciate the pics and the story telling.
My daughter's boyfriend's sister lives in Utah, and they usually make it out there about once a year. She has come back with just stunning photos!
So, we have another Nat fan??? Nice......
