i'll give it a try.
I used seafoam on it before, which is very similar to PB, but it didn't last very long. I guess it was too thin of an oil to last. Peanut butter is more pasty, so we'll see. I'll let you guys know what it looks like tomorrow.

I figured this one out by accident.
Packing tape. Yes clear thin packing tape. I was using it on one of my foam model airplanes and stuck the excess on the chrome strips, just to get it out of my hair.. I had flying to do. I forgot about it and a few days later noticed that everywhere that had tape on it was shinny. I am guessing the tape reflects light. You cannot tell it's on there. Pull it off and you will have residue from the tape. Give it a try.

you know if peanut butter works, crisco lard would probably work too.
