..you think that anything over 3000 on the tachometer is wasted space.

Hmm, maybe on pickup trucks. My MBs see 4000-4250 routinely.

Here's one, though... if you could happily ram the car that parks in the ONE pump at the fuel station that sells both gas and diesel out of the same machine, when there were 8 other gas-only pumps available --- and they're buying gas.

LOL

You have to borrow a GAS can, because all of yours are full of diesel.

No it's better when some sweaty, tired-looking guy driving a rig hauling a dumper train rolls in right behind them and parks a few inches off their back bumper and glares at them from way above.

I think I've seen a couple of abbreviated fillups due to Kenworphobia

You may own an OLD Diesel when the county asks you to drive along certain roads to help kill mosquitoes.
Or your car is older than some of your co workers. And you are asked to please wait until they leave the parking structure before starting your car.

You might own a diesel if

1. Your car is older than your girl friend, she mocks you for driving an old car and you say to her "I'll probably get more mileage out of her than you" ... then she breaks up with you and you wonder why ..., that's when you know you own a diesel ... THEN you figure oh well I still have my car .. that's when you know you have a MERCEDES diesel

2. Your co-workers say you smell of French fries when you walk into a meeting

3. Mityvac is a highly rated tool on your tool list.

4. You have an extension cable sticking out of your house all day in winter time

Kind of an old thread but I could not resist -
You know you own an OLD diesel when you are in a head on collision with a new car and need to do some minor front end repair while the other guy CRACKS HIS ENGINE BLOCK.
Just happened to a friend driving an old diesel BMW, pulled around a double parked car and was hit by a new BMW. I think it was about $500 for his repairs, the other guy not so lucky.
(No one was hurt, by the way)

You get in the car when cold, turn key to glow, place coffee cup in it's spot, fasten seat belt, note fuel level, connect cell phone to charger, gaze at the sky speculating the weather.....then turn to start.

Also, people gaze at you when you pass them on the interstate at 80+ in a non-turbo 617. I love the roar of the engine at that speed.

I love my W123's

ROFL

If your wife routinely forgets her new car is a gasser and can't figure out why the diesel pump nozzle won't fit?

Or if when you start a gasser, you let the glowplugs warm up!
