I'm actually using something similar. It's supposed to be in on Monday.

I was wondering if I should start a new thread about my TXV/OT adventures.

I have this project divided up into 3 parts:

Compressor
Condenser
OT

All going on at once...

What worries me is that you do not have a section on 'evaporator'.... as applied to Differences between Txvalve and orifice tube interaction with it.... if any....

There she is:

It's upside down and backwards from how it's viewed from the inside of the car.

It's just a radiator right?

Final answer:

The fan quieted down quite a bit when mounted and it throws a lot of air through the condenser.

16" X 20" condenser from ebay (#8 inlet, #6 outlet) and a 16" fan from the parts store...

As long as cross reference url's are appropriately placed....might be better that way since many people's interests may be in only one or two of the three....save them a lot of reading...

Final answer #2...

I used a slightly larger than stock receiver which may help with volume. It's the same diameter as the old one but it's about 1.5" longer.

I'm changing out all the hoses but if you just replaced the condenser with a P-flow you would have to deal with the hoses from the compressor to the condenser as well as the line from the receiver/dryer to the evaporator.

I also had to drill a hole for the #6 line leaving the receiver.

It's just a generic receiver/drier with #6 O-ring inlet and outlet. I just picked one of the bigger ones that had 2 ports for switches. Kinda wish I had picked one with a site glass...

On my car the receiver bracket was part of the condenser assembly and it also used flare fittings instead of O-rings so when I replaced the condenser I lost the mounting location.

Pic from the engine bay:

My car also originally had a reduced diameter blue hose for the high pressure so I had to route the regular size #6 hose a different way.

You're from texas so your view of what is rusty is warped. My rust belt point of view is that it's not all that bad.

I finally got a low pressure switch. It says:

"HFC-134a

HP: OFF 3.1 Mpa
LP: OFF 0.2 Mpa"

I figure "On" between around 30psi through about 400psi.

It screws into the receiver/drier.

I already have a relay for the fan but it takes power from the glow plugs.

This is the final deal as long as nothing leaks:

That's the switch on the receiver.
