Next, on my end I see the pelican searching the 911 for over 10 seconds before results display. I'm sure results will come quicker in time.
The server is really slow right now, as it's building indexes, unfortunately. On the good side, I will probably be swapping out the 911 with a Mercedes tonight!

I really hate the new header, it looks awful...

...however I like the "idea" of the new store. I just wish that the chassis numbers were listed (W126 instead of S-Class, W124 instead of E-Class, etc.)

And the prices are pretty good too.

I just looked at '80, '81, '82, and '83... only the '81 had the image you are showing with the name "E class & Diesel". I have an '83 300D and can figure out to do the "E class" link but can you do all the images?

I know a good database adminstrator with 17+ years of experience if you need some help with indexes/query optimization.

I may also know a guy (experienced web dev/DBA).

The search feature people are missing was a context search that only looked for parts inside the currently selected vehicle. It really isn't needed if you know where to go, but I think sometimes it was slightly faster for experienced users too since there were less clicks.

Search results returned the basic part data directly and the only results were part results relevant to the currently selected vehicle.

Its a small issue. The nomenclature change didn't happen until the '94 model year last I checked. Prior to then it was a what we know.

Not sure if you guys ship to UK--Guess you do, but the ever present shipping is the problem!
X2 Alastair !!
Now if only we could get them to get rid of this 3rd party shipping. If they start direct shipment to Australia I would use them & plenty of others from this side of the pond as well.
The parts info on this site leave every one else for dead ! Including MB !
You guys in the USA dont know how lucky you are !!

One could suggest that there could have been a contest to design a new header. Doing it that way often improves the acceptance by members.
However after seeing the responses that occurred when I tried to get members to suggest a name for the pelican, I can understand why the owner has chosen the path he has taken.
Looks are but vanity ~ What really counts is results !!
Be confident that by the time the commissioning of the changes are complete, you will be glad for the improvements !

The new header is the same as over on the Porsche forum. I understand wanting to keep everything simple but I liked the old look better than the "new" one.

I did search the parts store and I can't find W0133-1638756 which is the hubcap clips for the light alloy wheels on the W123. These were available on Fastlane but appear to be gone in the new store.

We're changing the nomenclature to include the chassis number. Should be fixed by tomorrow...

Yes, that's how the search engine works, or if I may speak correctly, that's how it should work (and will be working very soon).

The header is the same one that we've used on the Porsche / BMW side for about 10 years now. Helps to maintain consistency and also to reduce maintenance costs. The beauty and comprehensive catalog / parts listings should help compensate for the changes.

Thx,

Wayne

That is a supplier-provided number (WorldPac), and is not a real part number. If you search on the OEM part number from Mercedes, you will find it. I also just entered in "hub cap clip" into the search engine and it returned it at this url: http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/ksearch/PEL_search.cgi?command=show_part_page&please_wait=N&make=MBZ&model=3303&section=BDYWHL&page=1&bookmark=3&part_number=123-401-01-28-M58

I can't find how to call your tech help phone number which was on the prior peachparts front page - specifically the phone number for Roy Hunter. He has been really helpful. Please add that instruction somewhere on your page header. Your telephone number at the top of the page is for sales only.

(on this web page: [url=http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/) AND I can't find it by going to your [url=http://www.pelicanparts.com web page either.

I hope Roy will be able to continue providing value added support to this forum via phone support. Roy has always been patient and thorough in his support. He's an Ace!
