Again excellent customer service which is something that began when this place was still called Mercedes Shop. I admit I was skeptical when you took over but you are doing a great job!

I don't think these are diesel specific parts for an 87.

There's no front calipers for 300E or any w124 body style in nearby years, either. These are not odd-ball calls.

This must be a catalog miss, or stocking oversight, thanks for looking into it.

Mercedesshop.com Grill Badge

Here is the Mercedesshop.com Grill Badge for the new members that haven`t seen it.

Send any royalties to daw-two, I stole the picture from him.

And we need to thank Thedon for all the foot work he did getting them made.

I sent a message to my primary supplier today, here was his response:

Quote:
Hi Wayne,

We phased out the W124 front calipers back in 2007 (no sales). [Our competitor] is way off on the cataloging too. The correct numbers are 001 420 18 83 and 001 420 19 83. They are either not correcting catalog errors or the part does not move and no one has let them know about the error.

We will set the item up again and hope they sell this time around. Thanks !
So, even if you buy them from somewhere else, be sure that you are getting the correct parts. We do have these available as Genuine Mercedes (new, not rebuilt), but they are a bit expensive at $300 or so each.

No issues with me here - just save me one for my car, and let me know where to send payment!

It seems like you can find an Antenna mast for a 300SD just about anywhere online; if you guys had that, I probably would have purchased it. I was surprised to see Bundt rip offs and dash covers in the catalog, not things I'm interested in, but pretty cool to see all of it in one place.
Yes, and Yes. We've integrated multiple suppliers with our new shopping cart and the (incredibly complex) shipping calculators have not been completely finished yet. So, we *can* and *will* be offering free shipping on most of the other items in the catalog as well, but currently, the website has no means to figure it out and calculate it properly. A decision was made to launch on Sunday night, and then work on the search engine and the shopping cart to align all of the new features of the new catalog with our backend. I hope to have all of this completed over the weekend, if not, then mid-next week.

The antenna mast is located in our catatalog - I just picked your car and searched for "antenna" and it came up number one. here is the link: 1981 Mercedes-Benz 300D Sedan - Gauges & Miscellaneous - Page 1

If you wish to place an order for that, just PM me the Order Id, and I will wipe out the shipping charge for you on that, since you had trouble finding it the first time.

As I said, we're trying to stock our catalog full of *every single part* that we can find!

Thanks,

Wayne

The antenna mast comes up through a search if your car is a 300D, not a 300SD. I'm assuming that the mast works for both cars, but can you confirm that for me?

DO yourself a favour and get the Hirschmann, for mast replacement. I tried "other brand" (not from this web site, it was URO part) and top section rusted in about 30 days, and was wobbly when extended. Hirschmann, no such fuss. It was after that I made a vow never URO again. Ever. Everything I've tried that came branded as that has since been removed in less than 2 years of it going on the car, to be replaced by a real part. Mast included.

If I can chime in ...

what I miss most about the site change is that it lack the personal feel that existed with the Phil and Roy's phone numbers in the left column. It gave that personal touch such that it felt that they were just a call away for advice and direction on all parts and service issues. As one poster stated very aptly ... it is not the number of parts that is sold...

Wayne I see you are working overtime to satisfy the needs of the many.
all the best in all of your efforts... ( please advise as to wether Phil or Roy is still part the effort... just a week or two ago I talked to Phil and had a question which he differed to Roy but I had'nt gotten arround to calling him )

"These things too shall pass" a great quote which lends a philosophical perspective on change of all sorts in life.

best to all

Chris
