Can you replumb the stock PS to run the SLS temporarily? I ran my 300D with the PS pump disconnected for 6 months, I had 0 problems and the added bonus of popeye arms.
I wouldn't use the PC was was chewed by the prechamber

Although some people here was that SLS is an important part of the stable load carrying characteristics some W123 station wagons were made with out SLS (by Mercedes!). These models were probably only sold in Europe on the lower spec models...
...anyway I like the idea of swapping over to springs - in this situation - you could put it all back at a later date if you really wanted to. If you have another engine perhaps you have the parts already?

Ok fellas, I found every possible part I could need for this car 45mins from my house. Woo Hoo!
Now to save some money and decide what to do. I'm steering towards the twin pump. I'm going to take a look at a gasser twin pump he has and see if I can retrofit it. ![]() Has has a whole wagon motor that is a runner, and he's willing to pull the head and sell me that too. |

I picked up the twin pump yesterday. It was off an 88 gasser but didn't have a pulley on it.
I machined the diesel pulley out on my lathe, I cut the snout off the front, and screwed up the bolt holes. ![]() ![]() Tomorrow is the mounting plate. I'll snap some pics for those that want to know. |

WHAT
Quote:
Your maximum pressure is 600 psi. If you re-use the end connectors, four hoses should be under $100.00 USD. As I recall, only two of those are pressure lines, the other pair are return. .

Indeed like I said on your BW thread - think out side the box look for other people who make up hydraulic fittings => Farmers / earth moving machinery folk / pneumatic air line manufacuters(?) / HGV folk / bondage and sex toy manufacturers...

Wow it's been a year since I last posted in this thread. $210 for the hoses.
I got the hoses on it 2 weeks later after the last post and drove the car for almost a year until I started having electrical and Vac problems. I bought an 85 300TD with less miles, less rust and in great mechanical condition. So the 82 is for sale now. ![]() It was a great way to learn about these cars just not the right timing. Thanks for all the help guys. |
