Yeah my computer has been through heck and in some respects it is a turd. It started life about 10 years ago.

I had to take an angle grinder and cut out some of the case when I replaced the mother board about 7 years ago. Reinforced the case with a sheet of luan plywood. 6 years ago an ex employee set off a time bomb in the hard drive after she was discovered for embezzlement. The cooling fans are bungeed in with cable ties. I converted it to Linux about a year ago as it was so slow with windows.

Where was it apparent that I have Linux?

Heck of a story. Now we can officially include your computer in the turd thread!

I would even venture a guess that you are using Ubuntu given its popularity in the last few years.

Picture of the computer or it didn't happen!

You twisted my arm. I forgot to mention that the power supply was replaced with a genuine Chinese unit after it threw a big spark internally. The main trouble with the new powersupply is that has enough electrical interference to prevent AM reception for about 100 yards around. The mother board is held to the plywood base with dry wall screws and held off it by blocks of yellow polyurethane foam.

My internet connection is nearly as unique.
I am using a cell phone modem attached to the focus of satellite dish to amplify the signal. Without it we don't get a signal.

I welded an extension onto the dish to put the modem at the focal point.

This one can be de-turded fairly easily - 69 Mercedes Benz 200 Diesel Can't be any newer than a '67 though.

We are selling a 69 mbz 200d white with brown interior. This car was leined for back rent and have clear title and paperwork. We do not have keys for this car and are selling it as a fixer/project. It does have a manual transmission for great fuel mileage. For more info call Victor @707-935-0234

If that 200 was closer I might actually consider buying it. It looks pretty solid....

Shortsguy1 03-12-2013 11:41 PM

Yeah, as bad as parts of that 200 look, its interior is nicer than my 220D. I think the turd/$ ratio for that car isn't actually that bad.

This one is just great....can you spot all the problems?

WQhere should I start? The rust blooms or the hideous seat covers?

dude99 03-13-2013 12:50 AM

Is the prefilter red or is he running dyed fuel?

Shortsguy1 03-13-2013 01:12 AM

Haha, I like this game.

I didn't realize until seeing that 300D on ebay that some w123 cars came with a mono-wiper. Must have been a beta-version.

I'm going to have to close this thread if posts don't follow the rules...
thread text, and a few pics need to be actually added to the post.

and just linking the pic to the post don't do it.
you have to copy them to the forum, or if it's too big to copy, you need to download them, and resize them to fit.
