How do I remove the cooling fan/water pump pulley in my '84 300D?

I need to remove this pulley to clear up a nasty belt jam. Anybody got any advice or DIY links? I've had trouble finding either...

Here are pictures of the problem area...

You need to remove the four 10mm head bolts that secure the fan clutch to the water pump flange. Take care not to round off the heads of said bolts. Depending on brand of clutch, you might need to grind down a 10mm box wrench so that it will fit. Using an open end wrench greatly increases the risk of rounding a bolt hex.

That engine looks like it's been doing some serious sitting.

Yes it does, in the "Rust Belt"?
Seriously though, I would just cut the old belts out and install new ones. There is no need to remove the pulley when installing new belts.

Thank you! I'll give that a shot...

~2.5 years since it was last started, I believe...

Ooooh, no... the water pump/cooling fan & crankshaft pulleys are in a nasty jam because the old belts stuck to the pulleys and were drawn in between them when I tried to turn the motor for a valve adjustment. Here is the original thread I created on the subject.

Note to self: never work to the point that you can just, just still see..

still... I'd just cut the belts, and keep turning the motor until the belts rolled off, and be happy with new belts. also, be sure to sand the grooves before you put on new belts, so the rust does not destroy the new belts.

Yep, grind down a 10mm wrench like so:

Then remove the four fan clutch to pulley bolts:

And remove pulley:
