Diesel911- Thanks for the input. I think its an M type pump as the delivery valves do seem like they would need a special socket to come off. I will take a picture of them as soon as there is a little bit of light outside. The pump it self does look a lot like the picture you posted except that its has 5 fuel delivery valves. The stop lever and the Shut off valve in the same place as the pump pictured. I tried unseccessfully in the limited time i had yesterday to get the ALDA off to get to the torx screw holding the SOV but no luck. i need to get a 24mm wrench to undo it.
Stretch- I am not planning on moving any parts inside the IP if i can help it. I am going to stick around with opening up different SOV and looking inside and maybe follow "the Gears" advice and get the VCV cover off to see inside . 300D-91 - I wish that i could have pulled out the stop lever rod. In my case, it just dropped inside the body of the pump. I will have to fish it out first and then worry about putting it back in place. Your solution will come in handy once i have the shaft back in through the 17-mm hollow nut.
