IP leaking oil into Diesel supply?
On my 240D the compression is in the 380-400psi range on the 4 cylinders. I know I have a little blow by but the fill cap will stay on. It isn't that bad.
My brother recently pointed out that the exhaust smelled strongly of burning motor oil. I've never noticed it because it does not do it at idle or at low throttle. I did start noticing it when in reverse, I suppose when I drive through the exhaust with windows down. It only makes the smell when under heavy throttle, regardless of engine RPM. When following me on his donorcycle on the highway, my brother said he could smell it consistently. At 75mph the throttle is almost wide open. Any thoughts? Other than the obvious possibility of oil passing the piston rings, I wondered if there is a possibility that engine oil is seeping past some seal(s) in the IP and entering the fuel supply? I don't have a great understanding of the 616's IP so I don't know. Thanks for input.
