One of the more interesting things to do (I'm weird this way) is to watch how dynamic the a/c system is on my 98 E300 on the push button readout. Evap outlet temp, pressure, and hp side freon temp. Watching this shows you how it is all about the performance of the condenser.
Thanks, already got and sent the PM. I agree about the condenser. I am leaning towards only installing PF condensers with high CFM fans in future systems. I have a couple condensers coming for the two systems I will be doing soon. They are 16X20, but if I can find an 18X22 I think I can make it fit in a 123. I will be using a Gen II 126 fan in my own car, and in others if I can find any in the wrecking yards.......Rich

Of the ones converted so far the performance of the r134 with upgraded condenser/fan worked as well as an original r12 system. That is absolutely the way to go. Are you going to have a kit with everything except the compressor? That would be great.

Climate change ain't helping these old cars, especially in the southwest US.

I've got a source for compressors and condensers, but they are not private.
The compressor: https://www.acparts.com/product/new-original-sanden-compressor-4272/
Condenser on ebay:
CNFP1620 AC A/C Universal Condenser Parallel Flow 16 x 20 O-ring #6 & #8
I will be installing these in every system I do personally, but everyone else is free to do as they choose.
