An Update on Uberwasser
With his permission, I wanted to give everyone an update on Uberwasser. Him and I had lunch together a few days ago so I could lend him a few tools. In summary, he is doing very well, as are his cars. Most of his time is dedicated to his career. Hopefully you can all rest easy knowing that nothing bad has happened to him or his 123s. The Baja Arizona Oil Burners are still in very good shape.

I am glad to hear that. He was a generous contributor to this forum and he wrote a number of excellent DIYs at an outside site.
Not arguing his exit was abrupt, but I don't understand why people have this huge sore point over the book buy. This isn't Konradwax billet keyheads Part 2, no one lost money here and there were no delivery promises. It didn't happen. Keep moving, nothing to see here.

Unfortunately the world we live in is generally getting more and more inconsiderate and less polite. Follow-up is virtually non-existent. Being courteous is a novelty.
Sad state of affairs. In any event, I am happy to hear he is doing well. |

I was not involved in the book-buy thing so I'm talking as a 3rd party observer. He was attempting to get a deal from the publisher for a large group order. All he had was a list of interested members. From my own personal knowledge, lots of things happened not related to peachparts and as most would say "life happened." Uberwasser is nothing but considerate, kind, and polite. I can't write a transcript of our conversations, but if you were in the same situation I'm willing to bet you'd understand why things happened as they did.

he started a bunch of threads, built some interest, disappeared, people got concerned, you let us know he was fine, and end of story. Book can be sourced elsewhere for those who want it. We are all adults, I was mildly interested, but figured things had fallen apart. If people are miffed, they are more miffed they were concerned about someones well being only to find hes fine and their concern was misplaced, instead of worrying about some book deal. In that situation, telling them just how fine he is can be counterproductive.

Not a defense, I'm just filling in some gaps.I'm not omniscient, but I do have a view that is more complete in comparison from that of members who only talk to each other online. Like I said, I wasn't involved at all.
I'd be concerned if a member went missing out of nowhere, so I figured I'd just ease minds.
