300d 4-speed swap: are you happy with it?

I've been contemplating swapping a manual transmission into my 1985 300TD for no particular reason other than why many of here seem to want to do it. I love Mercedes diesels, I love manual transmissions; ergo ...

I've dredged through all the conversion stories here ... kept an eye out for the elusive 300d 38# flywheel and the 5-speed euro trans ... and have finally decided that I think I'll just put a 240 flywheel in there, pop in a 4-speed, shorten the driveshaft and shift linkages, and be happy.

I have a niggling worry that I will take a perfectly nice car and turn it into a bastard that vibrates.

So my question to the group: IF you have done a 240 to 300 4-speed swap, can you post here if you have been happy with it? I'm looking for someone to push me off the edge.
