There is a huge issue with Nursing home patients being over drugged with Anti-Psychotic medication to calm them down, when studies have shows that just an little time in a Time-Warp room removes the need to Any Medication. The big pharmaceuticals don't like this, as for them it is profit over patients.

‘Time-warp’ rooms have been created at a care home and, despite appearances, represents the very latest in caring for residents with Alzheimer’s.

Staff say it helps to CALM patients by transporting them back to ‘the good old days’, and stirring fond memories.

They also say using the room has led to a dramatic drop in the use of anti-psychotic drugs taken to combat Alzheimer’s.

‘The aim of the room is to help dementia patients tap more easily into memories from their past, triggering more memories that can give them a grounding when they may be confused.

What an interesting concept and quite amazing! Thank you for sharing!

I wonder at what stage this works?

To me, it take someone that has lost time. For example, Oma is loosing some memory, but not enough not to know where and what time, including current events and politics. She knows who people are. It is the most recent that are going, like a couple months ago ordered suppliments for me, as done for 10 years. But, now she doesn't remember. But, if I ask her about something that happened five years to 25 years ago, remembers. In short, don't see this "treatment" working for her.

However, can see the benefit of her back at home where has changed little from the 1960's. I do recall some improvement, but safer up north away from my Dad (negative person) and all that stuff that go quickly in a fire, plus be hard for medical to get in or get her out quickly (lot of stairs and in a wheel chair that she can't move).

I wonder if that is why I feel better with some older things around? And a bit over stuffed. It's what is comfortable.

Honestly, that room looks over done, staged, and needing a major decluttering. There only should be one or two things to a table, and no more than two of any type of furniture, limited by just to six pieces at most, unless a mansion with huge rooms. Those pictures are tacky and so need to go. Pictures really should just be in albums. Only a picture or two on the walls for the whole room.

Oma is soon moving to a new place. I wonder if it would help her to have a couple older pictures that know she cherished but left behind?

Ahhh the good times.
That is worse than Mrs. Robinson! I am sorry can't help except to say sympathy. I oft get called George by Oma, my Dad's name, or both her and my Aunt say I am his brother. All I am saying is it feels really weird. And look nothing like him or his Dad's lineage.
