Swapped from a Garrett to a KKK turbo, air cleaner doesn't fit now?
Hello guys and gals!
I recently (this morning) replaced my worn out Garret turbo on my grey 82 w123 with a KKK k26, everything went very well, until I got to the air cleaner housing. It's like the u pipe is too long, the housing won't go back far enough to line up with the bolts. I've tried to determine what could be different, if the turbo was from a Cali car or what, but I understood that the manifolds wouldn't line up if it was, but everything fit perfectly, just the air cleaner. I'm not super sure what car the turbo was originally from, just that it fit my car perfectly with no modifications or adjustment. I'd prefer not to have a silly cone filter on there if I can avoid it, but is there a different length u pipe or am I stuck fabricating something to make this work?
