I'm about to pull the old motor finally, any suggestions on bolts to mount the engine to a stand.
I usually get the proper fitting bolts from the hardware store. The last block I mounted was a Cummins 6bt so don't have the proper sized I'd need for this om606. Any guidance is greatly appreciated 🙏 |

So all in all I'd like to keep the driveline Mercedes. I've got a line on a 2004 W203 C230 6 speed that went behind the m111 Compressor. I'm not certain if it will still bolt up. Just may require modifying shifter length.
I've commonly seen the w203 boxes will fit up to 2003 model year. The '04 kompressor motor is the M271 code. Looking at Mercedes logic of manufacturing I'd suspect it used the same patter - but I don't know. Any help is appreciated. Last edited by Wdiesel; 04-25-2017 at 07:58 PM. |

Just got the trans from a w203, its from an M271 but bolts up fine. It came with a dual mass flywheel and the clutch - I plan to ditch it for a single mass flywheel.
Doing more research on trans options I came across a claim of someone running around 500 horse and lb-ft through a 716.xxx Either way I'm willing to test it, plus I'm glad it's all a MB drivetrain. Does anyone know if the clutch brake pedal assembly from a W123 will bolt on? I'm also looking at a hand lever parking break - the hydraulic setups wouldn't be ideal for a parking break, but there are still plenty of options. |

They're not too common, but manual trans w124's were brought into the U.S. That would make your life easier.

Thanks for all the help and responses!
Anyone know if the trans cross member from the 400/500/r129 will bolt to the chassis? Or if anyone knows the measurements that would be fresh. The W203 uses the same transmission mount as those chassis, with a different cross member to mount on |

I haven't gotten a 400e member in my hands, I did learn it is 7 x 15 inches, but at this point I'll most likely adapt/weld the existing xmember to accept the new mount.

You may have already solved the front sway bar fit problem but if not, I recommend one from a T-sedan (station wagon). They are fairly large diameter and, since the T-sedans came with a 6-cylinder engine, are bent "correctly." I have one in my '95 E300D.

I used to take my volvo to a german mechanic who used nearly zero slang. He said the noise was from a broken 'anti-rotation bar linkage'.

I've been told by a German speaker, it is a modular language.
Thought I fubared the rear main seal when the aluminum frame broke, then I realized the seals for these come in single use housings. The same covers are used on Sprinter CDIs from what I could tell. |
