Where I live, winters are far too cold for an old diesel to start... My gas car has (and needs!) a block heater!

So Betsie hibernates - snow and ice free - in the garage until May...

My cars all live inside now and don't get driven in the winter so here are some pictures of past winters and former cars.

I've noticed that vehicles left out in cold weather tend to degrade (electrical systems, fuel systems, exterior paint, interior seats, dashboard, etc.) faster than if kept in a nice heated garage.

I've spoken with a few car dealers who shared with me that when someone brings a car or truck in for trade-in appraisal, they can tell INSTANTLY whether the vehicle has been kept in a garage or not. Vehicles kept outside result in approximately 25% less trade-in value. The paint and interior have degraded 2 - 3 times faster than a garaged vehicle.

It's all about the money....
