Mystery Bolt

Hello all. While preparing to adjust the valves on the 1980 300SD, I found this bolt on the ground near the front passenger wheel. I searched as best I could but could not find an assembly that was missing this bolt. Going to jack up the front end sometime today to get a better look but thought I would ask for help targeting the spot before then.

Thanks for the help!

John

Looks like something from an idler pulley or belt tensioner. Or maybe an intake manifold bolt.

I think the Starter Bolts are longer.

Brake Caliper blot or one of the bolts that retains the Disc to the Hub.

Motor Mount bolts?

I can't remember the size of the bolts for the bracket at the rear of the starter nor the ones that hold the brace below the Turbo Charger.

Thanks for all the suggestions! After jacking the car, I proceeded to check the possibilities and found the spot - engine damper bolt.

Yes, definitely engine mount (damper) bolt.
