Cool nice site, bring sunglasses

I hope to be there too and would like to suggest that there is a really nice area to the East end of the park and if memory(remaining) serves me right it is called Meigs Point that would be easy to find. Coming off 95 from either direction you get off this connector about 3/4 mi in length. At the light, you go straight across (you are crossing Rt 1) You pass a guard shack (deserted this time of year) and continue forward. You can either bear right or go to a rotary. Go thru the rotary and follow the signs toward Meigs point. You may see bird houses on tall poles toward your left, they are egret nesting sites in a sanctuary area. From the parking lot at Meigs Point it is a very short walk to a boardwalk along a terrific stretch of beach.

michakaveli/turbodiesel and anyone else heading to the GTG
from western CT/NY/NJ/PA .. I'll wait at Exit 18 .. Sherwood Island
State Park .. from 11:45 until 12:00 .. we can "convoy" up
95 to Hammonasset together .. turn right at the end of the
ramp and procede about 200 yards to the park entrance ..
I'll be in a 1996 E300D smoke silver MB ..

Jim in Ct ..

I'm gonna have to fix my car up...

I'll have to find creative ways to make my car look good next to bad boy cars like Holson's. I recently salvaged a real nice grille from the junkyard, time to fix and respray that rusty windscoop under my radiator, and touch of the little rust areas. I hope my vehicle is on par. At least I know my fiberglass repairs are sturdy...I don't think rust can exsit on ANY part of those floors with that much fiberglass and undercoating. Maybe put in those new door handles to replace the saggy ones. I am real anxious to see Holsons car, and I can't wait to see a nice 300TD as well. Maybe we can hold a little drag race in the open parking lot? I gotta set up my line lock system to lock my back wheels under the EXTREMMMMEEE acceleration from my 240D

I recently put in (with the help of my father as usual) a Blaupunkt Santa Fe CD32 180W Cd player, and some MB Quart DKD 146 4x6 speakers in the rear deck....they sound great...the 4" DKD 110 speakers will be in the eighth for the front, hopefully they'll be installed by the 11th...

Just my little update....maybe others can describe if their doing anything??

Oh ya a wash on Friday after all my to-from school commuting

hahah thanks Kyle but trust me once you see my car and see what .. are.. wrong with it. Like ... those beautiful brown colored natural spots...

then you'll change your opinion hehehe

I'm just gonna give it a nice wash and probably if I arrive early, I'll stop by somewhere and clean the wheels.. :p

I had to drive it today in the middle of the bad snow.. I can't believe I had to do that after I washed and detailed it for half my day!!!

a diesel drag race hehehe.. might attract some attention from those civics wanting to race.. but shouldn't worry too much we'll have the 'Real-diesels' like those W210 TD's to show them something hehehe

it'd be awesome if we could get some of the Hot Rod 500E CT guys to come over too...

I found that a 96-97 E300 is neck to neck with my 300SDL.

RDANZ, Do I have to give yall directions on EVERYTHING ? It has been hard enough just getting yall stirred up enough to actually plan on meeting....

OK.... here is the deal.... you have not trained your wives ,, it appears....

The wives are supposed to do the setting up of food, cooking, serving and cleaning up afterwards....

So the guys can wander around and look at each other's cars.....and talk about obscure MB engineering solutions to simple mechanical problems....

Cool

naw we don't need permission, it just smooths the waters if ya know what i mean..
of course wives/significant others are most welcome at the gtg!!

weatherwise it doesn't look too bad for Sat (at least for now). sunny , a crisp 28 deg F , with a balmy northeast wind at about 16 mph gusts to 35 , making for a wind chill of abt 12 deg F ...
lol, gee i hope it stays that way and doesn't get any worse!
time to break out the water ski's :p
