Time for an update.
The car moves with its own power, no more pushing. Mounted an aluminum expansion tank with some tabs welded to the bulkhead, need to repaint a little. Also finished the throttle cable, which is made from a W140 long cable, adjustable end of a W201 cable, and a GM piece crimped and soldered to the end to mate with the throttle body. ![]() Used some heat shrink hose clamps on the coolant tee's, look pretty sweet IMO. ![]() Painted the removable center bulkhead piece and mounted the flexible trans dipstick and passenger side brake line. ![]() Made some custom brake lines, also my 180 degree braided fuel line fittings. I need to do something about the ugly master cylinder reservoir, this works for now. ![]() Running low speed fans(20A) through ballest resistor and high speed fans(40A) through 80A continuous duty relay. They both have thier own relay in the fusebox, controlled by the PCM which I have reprogrammed to run a 2-speed single instead of 2-speed double fan setup. The large battery cable going towards the engine routes all the way to a firewall pass-through next to the starter. I ran an SL battery cable from the other side to the trunk. ![]() Had a guy at a body shop I know paint the front fenders... ![]() and front bumper. ![]() The rest of the car will be painted soon, now that I can move the car without pushing. |

Good Luck Gen3Benz. It's nice to not have to push. I have to do breaks on my other car soon so the pushing will begin.
What are the MB 201 and BMW E35, Chevy conversions doing for suspension corrections? John Roncallo |

None (yet). The LS6 is about 60 pounds lighter than the m117 so I don't expect it to make much difference. That said, I have this brand new Dewalt High Torque angle grinder and the tools to take out the springs....

Oops - misunderstood. I'd just get a set of front springs from a W126 V8 car and install them. I found out that if you cut 1 1/8 turns off the bottom of a stock SEL front spring, the front drops about 1 1/4". I'd expect that pretty much any V8 car will have acceptable springs for this use. I cut off too much on the SEL (1 1/4 turns) and used a 4-nub spacer to bring the front back up where it needs to sit.

Gen3Benz - fantastic project. Where did you learn to do all this; do you have your own shop?
