Hi Michael: I tried to pm you but your mailbox is full! Lots of orders maybe?

Have you been able to get a kit together for me?

Cheers,

install

Mike, I got mine installed, using the instructions I found on here, but it does not work. It doesn't turn on the asr light, and the car doesn't want to shift even at 6500 rpms on it's own, when the first gear start is on, and nothing is different when the first gear start is off. I've reviewed the wiring instructions and don't find anythink. In the course of developing this did you come across these type of changes in the car? Do you have any idea what could be wrong? Thanks Dairel

I think you need to ensure that you've spliced into the correct wires - they are quite hard to discern, so much so that I actually took the socket (that the LH module plugs into) apart somewhat by cutting the small zip tie that holds all the wires in place in order to best see exactly where they went.

Once I cut each wire, I then confirmed the selection by using a continuity tester-I plugged one end into the receptacle/female end in the socket face (right next to where it's numbered) then I connected the other end of the tester to the cut wire. With continuity established, I knew I had the right wires.

Another possibility: perhaps you didn't splice the pairs correctly from the relay. A continuity teter can confirm this too.

Lastly, did you ensure the relay is getting power? When it's powered/actuated, it clicks audibly and a small light comes on.

Please let us know what you find

I checked the wires in the computer, but it is not lighting up, I check the power next, you never know could be a fuse. Thanks Dairel

What'as not lighting up?

Is the relay actuating when you send power to it? I'd start there...

the asr light and the asr off switch, neither one is lighting up. I'll look into it tonite, hopefully it's the power, I'd rather get back into the dash than the computer!! Thanks Dairel

Sounds like a power issue, or perhaps ground? Check both & let us know...good luck

Yes the ground wire had come loose, how does it happen? I'll put it back together tomorrow, hopefully it will work. Thanks for the help. Dairel

Kits ready to ship

All kits that have been paid for have shipped, and 5 more are ready to go. Any takers?? These will definitely be the last ones I do for $200, since virtually every component has increased in price

I'm new here. Just have had 500E-92 couple of weeks now. Interested to defeat asr, and i read you discussion, and made plastic tape tweak to asr module last night.
But it was bit disapointment to me, as i was not able to make wheels fully spinning loose. I did acceleration with 1 gear in b position. I have also E/S switch for transmission, and it did start with 1 gear when fully floored in position D. Maybe there was slight slip, but not very noticeable. In corner of course some smoke developed, but once straigt again, grip came back.
How you 500E behave? I have 225/65/16 michelin sport pilot tires in original rims.

My recently-purchased 1994 E500 with ASR defeat will smoke the stock tires when cold (engine temp below 50C or so), but when warm (80-90C), it barely spins the tires at all. I'm trying to diagnose this right now. New plugs and cleaning the cap & rotor made no difference, even though the old plugs were shot.

My guess is premium pump gas isn't good enough, and the computer is retarding the ignition timing, cutting power. I'm going to try NOS Racing Formula octane boost this Friday, and after that try 3 gallons of toluene at my next fillup. More details on the gas/octane thing here:

If you want to try different fuel, then re-set your LH module by removing it from the CAN for 30 seconds or so.

My 500E will melt my 245/45-17s...hehe

Hmmm. Does disconnecting the battery for a couple hours do the same thing, or does the LH module need to come out of the CAN? And how long does it take the system to "re-learn"?
