Their reasoning may not stand the challenges in court, but it sure can make your life much worse than just living with their flood-lights.
I'd mount 20 1,000 watt floodlights facing their windows before I'd cower and put up with it.

An old neighbor call the cops on a party we had once..at 10 pm on a friday...biggest mistake he ever made.........he never had another party again before he sold the place the cops weren't called to quet down.........and they used to have far more parties than we ever had.....

that and we went and turned out seakers against the common wall and maxed out the volume at random hours and random nights just to stress our point. But always turned it off before the cops had tiem to respond.....so we were never caught..

The guy was 6'7" and 300 lbs....worked construction.....I was 5'10" and 180 and worked electronincs at the time....he got drunk and threatened me....I told him if he had the balls he would come into my house away from prying eyes and witnesses so we could fight it out like he wanted.....and told him he better take me down quick becasue I was going to blow his f***ing head off if he didn't.....

He knew I meant it and had his house on the market 7 days later...

Mercury vapors have very hard glass that a .22 mag will bounce off of @ 100yds and are often found on farms. Sodium Vapors are found on farms usually located beneath staircases

I have a 454 Casull pistol with a scope that could hit it at 100 yards and make it break.

too much report, the whole point of breaking the light is for concealment.

Recommended course of action.

1. Talk to them.... if fails then,
2. Talk to local police
3. Put up a fence with lots of chrome tape on their side...

If talking reasonable doesn't do any good I would suggest that you pick up any one of George Hayduke's "Get Even" books available from Palladin Press. They are advertised as the complete books of dirty tricks. If nothing else they will give you laughs all night as you read them by the light of your neighbors artificial moon.

Ooooo I got another one!

Expensive but really really effective solution.

Trade in your existing Benz...
and get a MB G500... AMG for good measure...
Order PIAA ULTRA MEGA GRAND SUPER COSMIC FLOOD LIGHTS, 4 of them.
Get one of those HUGE cow grilles for the front of the G500.
Install spinner rims as well, in the 26 inch flavor.

Then go buy all the craziest Marilyn Manson music you can find....
or music by this dude ScreamerClauz... (terrorcore/speedcore music)
Google it if you want... his website is wayy too offensive to post a direct link.... (IN MY OPINION!)

Then head over to Walmart and get a mask that looks like Jason's from all the horror movies... and a chainsaw.
Also get a can of red spray paint.

Paint a Mercedes Star on the front of the mask, (in red).

Drive onto his front lawn,
turn the PIAA lights on, roll all windows down, max out volume on stereo with M.M. or ScreamerClauz music on...

Start the chain saw and with your left hand hold up the chainsaw out of the driver's window...
with your right foot and right hand, begin to do donuts all over his front lawn, tearing up everything...
After 1 hour or so, use the cow grill and destroy his mailbox.

Then place the back of the G500 AMG up to his front door, rev engine up several times... placing burn marks on his door

Then jump out of the car, and use the chainsaw and saw off his light fixture...
If you get electrocuted and die, don't worry we will see you in "Jason Benz 2".

If you don't die, take your Benz back to the dealer to figure out why your check engine light came on during the donut session.
Quality Control.

First I would ask them nicely, if they are decent people you two should be able to work something out.

If that doesn't work you know those monster spot lights they shot up into the air when a store opens or something like that? Rent a pair of those on like a Tuesday night and light up his house. If you do it at about 3am it should have the right affect.
